November Pet of the Month - Spooks and Pumpkin
Halloween Surprises
Midforest
Veterinary Practice staff in Lyndhurst were given two little surprises when
one of their clients came to see them on Wednesday with a scary tale…
Mr & Mrs Colvin had been driving through Emery Down on Halloween Night
when they saw a plastic bag by the side of the main road and emerging from
it they thought they saw a little face, but not quite believing what they
saw they stopped and found the plastic bag contained scraps of black and white
fur which on closer inspection turned out to be two tiny little kittens, only
a few weeks old, and in a sorry state. These kittens had been deliberately
and cruelly abandoned and would have died of cold and starvation if not rescued.
However, “Spooky” and “Pumpkin” were given a full
kitten health check by vet Dr Colleen Bray who treated them for a severe flea
infestation. They were given a warm bath and some much needed food and after
a good night’s rest in a cosy bed they perked up and are now full of
fun and mischief, delighting the staff with their playfulness and in return
enjoying the love and affection being lavished on them. There is a happy ending
to this tale because both kittens have found a new home.
