Our
third annual Walkadogathon was held on 23rd September on a bright sunny day.
Despite the rain 24 hours previously conditions were good and all walkers
and dogs enjoyed the 3.5 mile circular walk through the woods off Beechen
Lane, though some were a touch muddier at the end than when they started out!
All dogs were given a Walkadogathon bandanna at the start and they also went
home with their own version of a doggie (goodie) bag each! … and for
their owners? There was a very welcome BBQ waiting their return at our Lyndhurst
surgery. The
annual event takes place in aid of Second Chance Animal Rescue based at Mansbridge
in Southampton who also supported the afternoon with several of their own
dogs. £250 was taken on the day with sponsorship expected to add to
the total over the next couple of weeks. A big thank you to everyone who took
part and made it a fun afternoon for all.
